ROLL ME AWAY
When I left Ohio for Alaska, I was mentally & emotionally drained, I was lost. Even my love for photography was not in my heart. I felt defeated. I struggled with so many questions. I looked to music for inspiration, for uplifting words, for upbeat tunes, for escape. I think I spent more money on my iTunes that year, than all the other years combined. When I was at this little lake staring at the great Alaska Range along the Alaska Highway, I immediately thought of this song. If you know ROLL ME AWAY by Bob Seger, then you know. But if you don't know it, let me share... here is the link.
ROLL ME AWAY by Bob Seger the reason for the title is at the 2:50 mark on the video. I love Bob Seger's music, he is definitely one of the great, classic storytellers of our time.
Now, music is still a big part of me. God is more so. And photography is once again my joy. It is also my therapy. It is my fun. It is my blessing.
Proverbs 21:1 The king's heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD; he guides it wherever he pleases.
I thank God that He put photography in my heart, by the time I was 10...well that's when I wanted to pursue it. God puts those special things in our heart to guide us to where He wants us to be or what He wants us to do. Follow your heart. It may be a bumpy ride but it will be worth it! I have been blessed with the number of people I have met through photography, the number of babies & their families I have photographed, the joy of examining my memory cards after a day spent with my camera in my hand and most of all, I am grateful for the friends that have the same love for the camera.
I will comment more about this location at another time... look for the "First Magical Alaskan Road Trip".
Printed in color. Available in 2:3 ratio. As always, the image on the blog is not as sharp as your printed image.
My recommendations... Print on standard photographic paper, mounted and framed with a simple black frame. Canvas or White base Metal will also look great.
